§1910.22(a) requires walking-working surfaces to be kept clean, orderly and sanitary. Boxes in aisles, trailing cords, debris, and blocked egress paths are the most common ‘soft’ citation — cheap to fix, but a reliable trigger once an inspector is on site for something else.
