Window-Washing & Rope-Descent Anchors

priority_high Why it matters
Before any contractor can drop a rope to wash your windows or work the facade, OSHA §1910.27(b) makes the building owner identify and certify the rooftop tie-back and rope descent system (RDS) anchors — each one must hold 5,000 pounds. Most older buildings have davits, parapet clamps or roof anchors that were never tested, and a reputable window-washing company simply won't tie off until they're certified.
